The word Dasaraa comes from one of India's greatest festivals, the celebration of good triumphing over evil. We chose that name on purpose.
Opening this restaurant was a fight of its own. A fight to bring genuinely authentic Hyderabadi and South Indian food to the families and students of New Jersey, without taking a single shortcut.
We import the spices that cannot be substituted. The recipes? We stick to them exactly. No shortcuts, no “modern twists.” We cook the way our mothers and grandmothers did in Hyderabad. That's what Dasaraa is. No more, no less.

Dasaraa (spelled Dasaara or Dasara) is a Hyderabadi and South Indian restaurant at 2105 New Brunswick Ave in South Plainfield. We're one of maybe two Indian spots in Central Jersey that actually focus on real Telangana and Hyderabadi flavors. Not the watered down version. The actual thing.
From breakfast dosas and idlis to midnight Hyderabadi dum biryanis, we've got you covered. Start your morning with pesarattu and mysore bonda, come back for chicken majestic and mirchi ka salan at lunch, and close the night with tandoori chicken and gongura mutton. There's always a seat at our table.
